Mrs. J. W. Hague Died Suddenly of Heart Attack
Mrs. J. W. Hague of 506 F avenue, who would have been 80 years of age February 21, passed away very suddenly while seated in a chair at her home Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock from heart attack.
Mrs. Hague had been failing in health for two years but had not been confined to her bed. She had been cared for since October 27 by Mrs. Sophia Beeman of Liscomb, who was with her at the time of her death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 23, at 2:00 p. m., at the Nevada Evangelical church, with her pastor Rev. Klooz in charge. Burial will be in the Pleasant Run, or Summit cemetery, southeast of Nevada, by the side of her husband who died January 5, 1924.
Mrs. Hague, whose maiden name was Belle Tichenor, was a daughter of Joseph and Martha Tichenor, pioneers of Nevada township. She grew up in that community and attended the rural schools. She was married May 11, 1882 to J. W. Hague, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Isaiah Reid. They established their home and lived for many years on a farm just southeast of town until 1914 when they retired and located at 506 F avenue where her home had since been.
Mr. Hague died very suddenly from a heart attack on the evening of January 5, 1924. No children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hague but a foster daughter Mable, who was raised in the home, died about 122 years ago.
She had been an active member of the Evangelical church since girlhood, first of the Summit church south of Nevada and later of the congregation after the church was established in Nevada. She was a faithful and active member of the congregation and also took an active interest in the Missionary society and other organizations in connection with that congregation.
She leaves one brother, Oliver Tichenor and a nephew George Tichenor, both of Colo. Brothers George, Ed, Carleton and Joseph and one sister, Eva Tichenor, have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hague was woman of very fine character, devoted to her family and home, active in church and charitable affairs and a much beloved neighbor and friend.
Her entire live had been spent in this community and her influence had been felt among the circle of people with whom she had come in contact.
