Final Services Held at State Center for Albert Eckhart
State Center--Funeral services for Albert Eckhart, 45, a well known farmer and stockman of near State Center who died at Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown at 11:30 p. m. Sunday were held at St. Johns Lutheran church today at 1:30 in charge of the pastor Rev. William J. F. Zabel. Interment was in the church burying ground with military honors.
Albert Eckhart was born Feb. 24, 1893 on the farm north of State Center where he always live, a son of Louie and Minnie Eckhart. He was one of 12 children five of whom survive. These are W. L. Eckhart, Mrs. Emma Schoppe, Mrs. Cora Weuve and Miss Elnora Eckhardt, all of State Center, Mrs. Mary Conkin of Clemons.
He entered the world war July 24, 1918, in the selective draft, and was sent to Camp Pike, Ark., where he was discharged in August of the same year because of physical disability.
