Orville Harrison Funeral Services Are Held Friday

Orville Harrison was born Nov. 23, 1895 at Nevada, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Harrison of the Shipley neighborhood. He was married Dec. 21, 1928 to Mable I. Harrison at Princeton, Mo.

Harrison was a Story County farmer for many years, living his entire life in Story County. He moved to Nevada from the farm a few years ago.

He died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 a. m. of a heart attack while he was at his work at the Spencer Construction Co. office in Ames. He was 66 years of age.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Orval Gene of Maxwell, and Don Richard of Blooming Prairie, Minn. and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one daughter, Ardis Colleen, who died in 1938.

Funeral Services

Funeral services were held for Orville Harrison at the Assembly of God Church, Friday, Sept. 7 at 2:30 p. m., with the Rev. Jackie Marshall officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Clearcene Gullett of Des Moines.

Mrs. Florence Rapp sang two solos, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "Lead Kindly Light." She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Albert Price.

The many lovely floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Ruby Pence and Mrs. Iver Stevens.

The casket bearers were all nephews of the deceased: Dean Harrison, Wayne Harrison, Glenn Mallory, Robert Nerness, James Sheler and Francis Thompson.

Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.
