DEATHS
Funeral services for Albert M. Marvick were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. Pastor C. A. Gisselquist was officiating minister. Walter Lund, soloist, sand "Jesus Still Lead On" and "Near the Cross." He was accompanied at the organ by Miss Louise Olson. Rev. Lawarence Mathre and Rev. T. J. Alvestad brought greetings.
Pallbearers were Theroy Wierson, Edwin T. Hauge, Myron Rod, Richard S. Munsen, Otis Frette and Albert Donhowe. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Rohrs, Henry Thorsbakken, Selmer Endreland, Arvie S. Jacobson, Ole Jacobson and Andrew Enderson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Albert M. Marvick, son of the late Martin and Mary Marvick ws born in Stavanger, Illinois, September 26, 1880 and died at Story City Memorial Hospital on March 4 at 9:45 p.m. at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 7 days.
His education, after schooling at Story City was at Highland Park College, Des Moines and State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. He was a graduate of Dunwoody Institute, Minneapolis. Later he and his sister, Emelia, now Mrs. House, took up land claims in Wyoming. He resided on his ranch in Wyoming until 1946 when, following major surgery at Rochester, Minnesota, he was advised by the doctors to retire from ranching. He then moved to Story City where he resided until the time of his death.
He was married to Mabel Lund on September 10, 1949 at Denver, Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a sister, Mrs. Emelia House of Story City Bethany Manor; three nephews, Maurice and Dwayne Marvick and Helmer House and one niece, Mrs. Gren Harns. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linnie Marvick and a brother, Seward Marvick.
