Funeral Services For Gust Ness Held In Jewell

Funeral services for Gust Ness were held at the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell, with the Rev. S. E. Carlson and the Rev. E. L. Reisem in charge. Interment was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Gust Ness was born in Benton County, Iowa on Dec. 11, 1875. His parents were Ole and Harborg Ness.

On Dec. 11, 1905 he was united in marriage to Sena E. Olson at Atkins. Four children were born to this union. He lived in Benton County until 1914 when he and his family moved to Story City where Ness was engaged in farming for a while, and later in the carpenter and implement business.

Mr. and Mrs. Ness entered the Rest Home at Jewell about ten months ago, where he died Tuesday morning, July 24th at the age of 86 years, seven months and 13 days. While living at Jewell he was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sena; one daughter Mrs. Herbert (Frances) Whaley of Jewell; two sons, Orlin Ness of Story City and Milo Ness of San Lorenze, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

A daughter, Esther Jeanette preceded him in death, also his parents, seven sisters and three brothers.
