DEATHS

Clarence Tweedt

Funeral services for Clarence Tweedt of Huxley were held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Riis Funeral Home in Slater.

Pastor Ernest T. Thompson officiated at the service.

Omar Brendeland, soloist, sang "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "Does Jesus Care." Organist was Mrs. Noel Larson.

Pallbearers were Eli Wee, Miller Wee, M. H. Dobbe, Oley Hanson, Michael Johnson and Roger Fjelland.

Interment was in Palestine Cemetery.

Clarence Tweedt, son of Tarral and Hellen Tweedt, was born Aug. 11, 1899, in Emmett County, near Estherville. He died Nov. 18, 1971 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines following several months illness.

In the fall of 1899, his family moved from Estherville to a farm south of Huxley.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

In Aug., 1920, he was united in marriage to Mabel Wardhol [should be Wardahl] at Kenyon, Minn. They lived there until 1923, when they moved to Huxley. He lived in this area, except for serving in the army during World War II.

He is survived by one niece and 5 nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harry, and a sister Annie Fjelland.
