Services Held at Huxley April 18th For Ole Legvold, Sr.

Funeral services for Ole Legvold, Sr. were held on Monday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley with the Rev. M. H. Rye in charge.

Organist was Gordon Steel who accompanied Miss Lenesa Legvold of Ames who sang.

Pallbearers were Milo Viland, Hugh Byal, Wayne Byal, Henry Steel, Ole Legvold, Jr. and Sam Legvold. Burial was in the Fjeldberg cemetery.

Obituary

Ole Legvold, Sr., 97, was born July 4, 1862 in Stavanger, Norway. He died Saturday, April 16 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames following a brief illness.

At the age of 18 he came to this country and was a blacksmith and carpenter in the Slater-Sheldahl community for many years. Later he moved to Huxley and while living there served as Mayor and was a member of the school board.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Sarah Steele, Mrs. Ellen Viland and Mrs. Lilian Bailey all of Huxley and Mrs. Ella Byal of Mingo; two sons Ole Jr. of Huxley and Sam Legvold of Ames. Twelve grandchildren also survive.
