Larry R. McConnell Buried Here Monday

Funeral services for Larry Richard McConnell, former Nevada resident, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday, April 18, 1960 at 2 p. m. Rev. Robert Spencer officiated at the services. Mrs. Norman Dobson was at the organ.

Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Robert Allen, William Koeder, Don Pierce, John Pierce, Harold Storey and Lanny Valline, all members of his graduating class.

Obituary

Larry Richard McConnell, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. McConnell, 1005 1st St., Nevada, was born on Nov. 13, 1937 in Nevada, Iowa. His death, which came about after a short illness, occurred in Mercy Hospital, San Diego, Calif., on April 13, 1960.

Larry attended the Nevada schools and graduated from the Nevada High School in 1956. He was employed for a time at the R. H. Donnelley Corporation in Nevada and the Western Electric in Des Moines. He entered the U. S. Navy on April 19, 1957. He received his discharge on April 27, 1959. He had worked for Convair Astronautics in San Diego since May 1959.

On July 12, 1959 he was united in marriage to Karla Rae Neff, who survives him. Also left to mourn are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. McConnell of Kent, Wash., and a sister, Carol, Mrs. Neil Archer of Great Falls, Mont.

Larry was a member of the Nevada Christian Church and church choir.
