Rites Held For Hollis Phillips

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Hollis T. Phillips at the Wensel Funeral Home in State Center.

Mr. Phillips died Tuesday at the home of his nephew, Donald Titus with whom he had made his home for seven years.

The Rev. William Baddeley of the Methodist Church in State Center officiated and Mildred Meier and Marie Swartz furnished special music.

Casket bearers were Donald Titus, Robert Titus, Curtis Marlow, Richard Holland, Harold Goodman and Lewis Phillips. Burial was in the Eden cemetery at Rhodes.

Obituary

Hollis T. Phillips was born in Lee County, Illinois, November 13, 1872 and died March 8, 1960, having reached the age of 87 years, 3 months and 25 days.

He was married to Elizabeth Barry on August 22, 1900. Mrs. Phillips preceded him in death also four brothers and three sisters. Survivors are several nieces and nephews.
