Rites Held Mar. 12 For Joseph E. Sager

Funeral services held at the Christian Church in Collins Saturday afternoon March 12, 1960 at 2 p.m. for Joseph Sager. Rev. Robert McDonald was the officiating minister. Mrs. Hugh Fertig was at the organ and accompanied Mrs. John Cleverley when she sang "Be Still, my Soul" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Orville Cleverley, Mrs. Earnest Maxwell, Mrs. Wayne Clapper and Mrs. Hale Nickell were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Casket bearers were Charles H. Sager, William Sager Jr., Jack Main, Lloyd Edward, Norman Sager and Richard Milligan. Interment was in the Collins Evergreen cemetery in charge of the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Service of Baxter.

Obituary

Joseph Edward Sager, son of William and Susan Sager was born at Colfax August 19, 1902 and died March 9, 1960 at the age of 57 years, six months and 10 days. The family moved to near Mingo a few years later and he attended rural schools there in that area.

He was married to Maude Irene Vasey on Aug. 7, 1924 and to this union were born three children, two sons, Charles of Elkhart, Jerry of Farrar and a daughter, Mrs. Joan Koch of Dubuque, all of whom with their mother, survive.

The family moved from Collins to Mount Auburn in 1936 and to the present farm home seven miles southeast of Collins near Clyde in 1944.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ruth Snook of Louisburg, Missouri and three brothers, William of Collins, James of Colo and Simon of Colfax.
