Rasmussen Rites Held Saturday At Funeral Home

Funeral services for John Rasmussen, 80, of Nevada, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, March at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Victor Hackbarth of Memorial Lutheran church officiating.

Mrs. Wilma Sutherland sang two songs, "Abide With Me" and "No Night There." Mrs. Norman Dobson was at the organ.

The casket bearers were Ray Alexander, William Buck, P. G. Hess, Harve Jensen, Ivan Jensen, Marvin Jensen, Ross Morfey and Fred Sorenson.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

John Rasmussen was born in Grant township Nov. 30, 1880, a son of the late Hans and Marguerite Rasmussen.

He had been a farmer during his active years. The last of his immediate family, he is survived only by cousins.

John Rasmussen had been a resident of Story County during his entire life. His death occurred Wednesday at 8;30 p. m. in the home of Miss Julia Hennessy, R. N., where he had been cared for since 1948. Miss Hennessey, R. N., had also cared for him during the illness which preceded his 12 years of invalidism.
