Services For Laura Talbott Held In Nevada
Funeral services were held at the Ryan Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 2 p. m. for Mrs. Laura Talbott, 91, with the Rev. James Dendler officiating.
Mrs. Harry Sutherland sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages", accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Norman Dobson.
The body wad taken to Mahomet, Ill. where burial was made in the family lot in the Riverside cemetery Monday at 1:00 p. m.
Obituary
Mrs. Laura Talbott was born May 8, 1868 at Deland, Ill. a daughter of Henry and Rebecca M. McBride. She had been a resident of Story County the last 39 years.
On Jan. 27, 1897 she was married in Illinois to Emory Talbott. She was a member of the Methodist church. In 1922 she came to Story County to make her home. Her death occurred at the Hutchinson Nursing Home in Des Moines Feb. 19.
Surviving are two sons, Harley P. Talbott of San Gabriel, Calif. and James K. Talbott of Fernald. She also leaves one brother, Arthur McBride of Ames.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband on Dec. 5, 1919. Also by three brother and three sisters.
Relatives from Waterloo, Colo, Ames, Zearing and Nevada were in attendance at the last rites.
