Funeral Services For Mrs. Sarsfield Held In Nevada
Funeral services for Mrs. Ena Sarsfield were held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 2 p. m. at the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada Robert Spencer officiated.
Soloist was Fred McLain of Nevada who sang two selections. He was accompanied by Mrs. Lowell Johnson at the organ.
The many beautiful flowers were handled by Mrs. Harvey Collins, Mrs. Richard Collins and Mrs. George See, Jr.
Pallbearers were Richard Collins, John Dickinson, Howard Handsaker, Cecil (Jim) Kitchen, Wendell Williams and Don White. Honorary pallbearers were Lyle Smith and Harvey Collins.
Before the funeral the body laid at rest at the Cooper Funeral Home. Burial took place at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.
Obituary
Ena Mary Lane Sarsfield was born near Maxwell, Iowa, on July 13, 1908 and died at 2:00 a. m. on Jan. 9, 1960 at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 25 days. She had been in ill health for the past three years.
She was one of eight children born to Grapho and Mary Lane and lived all her life in and around Maxwell. She graduated from Farrar High School with the class of 1929.
On June 16, 1933 at Adel, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Arthur Leo Sarsfield. They have lived on a farm northeast of Maxwell since that time. To this union was born one daughter, Betty Lee, now Mrs. Richard W. Henry of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was a member of the Hickory Grove Community Club and the O.D.O. Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grapho and Mary Lane, one sister, Erma and two brothers, Zeno and Vernon.
Surviving are her husband, Art; one daughter, Betty; two grandchildren, Wayne and David; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Zelda) Rittgers and Mrs. William H. (Doris) Jones; and two brothers, Lloyd and Al Lane, all of Maxwell, as well as many friends near and far.
