Services Held For Ursula Carver at Maxwell Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Ursula Carver were held Sunday, January 17 at the Maxwell Methodist Church with Rev. J. E. McClellan officiation. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Collins

Obituary

Ursula Mae Hartung, daughter of Wm. and Mary Kopf Hartung was born July 2, 1871 in Washington Township, Polk County, Iowa and passed away January 15, 1960 in the Story City Hospital where she had been a patient for the past six months at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage to Jabez Carver, Feb. 11, 1891. To this union two children were born Floyd E. and Helen F. (Tomlinson) both of them having preceded her in death; also her husband, her parents, two brothers Walter and William Hartung, and a sister Anna Mowen.

She is survived by one brother, Fred L. Hartung, Seattle, Washington; one sister, Mary C. Rulfrok of Saginaw, Michigan; four grandchildren, Byron Carver, Edith Huffaker, Ruth Link of Maxwell ad Joyce Moeller of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

After moving to Maxwell in November, 1916 she became a member of the Maxwell Methodist church and rarely missed a service. She was President of the WSCS at one time and for years was an untiring worker in the society. She was past Matron of Annie Laurie Chapter Order of Eastern Star and was one of the charter members of the Past Matrons Club. She was also a member of the Maxwell Literary Social Club.
