OBITUARY OF MRS. OLIVER

Had Long Been Popular Woman of Gilbert.

Special to the Journal.
Gilbert, April 1--Mrs. Lovina Oliver [should be Lavina Oliver] who left Gilbert March3, for a visit at the home of her son, Dr. C. I. Oliver of Graceville, Minn., died there Friday March 27, after a weeks illness from pneumonia. She had been in failing health for some time. Her only daughter, Mrs. Irene Johnson died last July and her husband, Lorette Oliver [should be Thomas Lovette Oliver] died in October.

Mrs. Oliver is the last of the charter members of the Gilbert Congregational church. She is one of the best loved women in Gilbert. Many of the grown men and women in this vicinity remember her as their first Sunday school teacher. It would be hard to find a child who lived in Gilbert during Mrs. Oliver's middle life who could not till of some kindness received from her, such as a letter when a way from home, a little gift when she returned from a trip and her cookie jar was well known and always being refilled.

She was a book lover and always shared her books with her young and older friends. She was very faithful to her home, church and S. S. and especially the Ladies Missionary society. During her later years it was difficult for her to hear she attended anyway.

She will be greatly missed by her host of friends and relatives, her near relatives being her son, Clifford and two children and her deceased daughter's four children, also one brother and one sister. She was buried in Gilbert cemetery Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
