Rits Held For W. C. Enfield
CAMBRIDGE--Funeral services were held Oct. 18, 1953 at 2:30 p. m. at the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Laportie R. Bucklew in charge assisted by Rev. John Rex of Cambridge.
Mrs. Alice Gooden sang "Sunrise" and "Some Day He'll Make It Plain" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Betty Porter.
Pallbearers were: Martin Troup, Clark John, Will Troup, Bert Underhill, Ross Link and Harold Wheeler.
The beautiful floral offering were taken care of by Mrs. Vesta Thalacker and Mrs. Florence Wheeler.
Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery.
Obituary
William Enfield was born in Johnson Co., Iowa, Sept. 20, 1865, and died Oct. 14, 1953 at the age of 88 years and 24 days. At the age of 27 he received baptism, and was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren.
In 1893 he was united in marriage to Lizzie Reitz, and to this union was born three sons, Richard, Morris and Galen. He lived in and around Maxwell the greater part of his life, being in business in that territory.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lizzie; three sons, Richard of Des Moines, Morris of San Benito, Texas and Galen of Cambridge; eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sadie Boitnott of Roanoke, Virginia, and a host of relatives and friends. His parents, one sister and and one brother preceded him in death.
