Lottie C. Thompson

Sept. 23, 1917, to Nov. 11, 2000

Lottie C. Thompson, 83, of McCallsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 11, of cancer at her residence.

She was born Sept. 23, 1917, to Edward and Dena (Anderson) Spurling in Zearing. A life-long resident of McCallsburg, she worked at the hotel in McCallsburg, at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada and as a nurses' aide at Colonial Manor in Zearing. She married Oscar L. Thompson on Nov. 17, 1936, in Zearing. She was a member of the McCallsburg United Presbyterian Church and the McCallsburg Presbyterian Women's Group.

Survivors include a son, Richard L. Thompson of McCallsburg; a granddaughter, Debbra M. Thompson of Nevada; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie (Oscar) Phillips of West Des Moines.

Her parents, her husband, two sisters, Nellie and Ellen Spurling and a brother, Everett preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. in the United Presbyterian Church in McCallsburg. Burial was in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg. Fredrigill Funeral Home, Zearing, handled arrangements.
