Ames Boy Died Victim of Accident In Ry. Yards Here
Injuries of Cleo Lewis, 24, Ames young man who was so seriously injured in the Northwestern yards here late Wednesday afternoon, proved fatal and he died Thursday afternoon at 3:30 from internal hemorrhages and shock.
In his fall between the cars the right arm had been severed just below the shoulder, there was a deep puncture in the left side, he was badly bruised and suffered internal injuries.
The young man was single and lived with his father James Lewis in Ames. There is also a sister and brother in Ames. He had been employed in the Northwestern yards at Ames for several years but being unemployed to that day he with two friends Lloyd Michaelson of Kelley and Virgil Peterson of Ames, had hitch-hiked over from Ames and were starting to ride a freight train out of the Northwestern yards here for Marshalltown, when the fatal accident occurred.
