Pioneer Colo Woman Laid to Rest After Long Life

Colo, June 7--Funeral services for Mrs. E. B. Carver, 93, pioneer Colo woman, who died at the home of her daughter at Clinton on May 30, were held at the Methodist Episcopal church here on Tuesday after which the body was laid to rest in the family lot in the Colo cemetery by the side of the husband who died in the spring of 1919.

Amelia E. Lindsey was born in Bath, New York, May 31, 1844, daughter of Edward and Mary Lindsey and died May 30, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Cozzens in Clinton.

She was united in marriage to Evi B. Carver in Clinton, Iowa, on Nov. 25, 1868. Mr. Carver preceded her in death in February 1919.

To this union was born two boys and four girls. Nellie died in infancy and Edward, the elder son passed away at Greeley, Colorado, in 1918.

The surviving children are Mrs. Minnie Lambertson of Galesburg, Ill., Mr. R. F. Carver of Colo; Mrs. E. W. Martin, of Colo, and Mrs. C. E. Cozzens of Clinton.

Grandchildren are Mrs. Erma Saunders, Greeley, Colo.; Mrs. Dan Sanise of Blue Island, Ill., Verl Lambertson, Harvey, Ill., Knox Lambertson, Long Beach, Calif., Zola Carver, Colo, Iowa, Pauline Martin, Long Beach, Calif.; Donald Martin, Colo, Ia., Charles R. Cozzens, Clinton, Ia.; Doris Cozzens, Clinton.

Great grandchildren Jack, Jerry and Robert Sinise of Blue Island, Ill., Marjorie and Elaine Saunders, Greeley, Colo.

Mrs. Carver was a longtime member of the Colo Methodist church and a charter member of the Colo Eastern Star.
