Johanna Wange* Died Last Night at Story City

Special to the Journal.
Story City, Jan. 29--Miss Johanna Wange*, 98, longtime resident of this community, died at the Story City Old People's home on Wednesday night and the funeral services will be held at the Home chapel Monday afternoon at 1:00, after which the body will be taken to Mamerslund cemetery*, northeast of Story City for burial.

Miss Wange was a native of Norway, where she was born on New Years Day, 1839. She came with her parents, Peter and Guro Wange* to America when a girl of 20, the family settling first at Capron, Ill.

She had lived in the vicinity of Story City for many years and the past three years had been spent at Sunset Home.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The deceased is Johanna Wauge, not Wange as stated. She was the daughter of Peter Wauge and Guri Vangness. Her death record states she was born 1 January 1839 in Norway and died 17 January 1937 in Story City, Story County, Iowa. Her death record states she was buried in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
