Galen B. Sowers

Galen B. Sowers, 83, of Ozark, Ark., died at his home on March 12 of congestive heart failure.

He was born Dec. 10, 1906 in Nevada to Howard and Peal Sowers. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and had lived in Los Angeles, Cal., for many years before retiring in 1968 as an acoustic manufacturing plant manager.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise, of Ozark, Ark., one daughter, Joanne Hartley, Ankeny, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated in Arkansas. A visitation will be held at Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, on April 7 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a graveside memorial service at the Nevada Cemetery on April 7 at 2:30 p.m.
