Last Rites For H. P. Albery, 72 Held Wednesday
Last rites for Henry P. Albery, 72, long time resident of Nevada and a retired business man, who passed away Sunday, March 12, were held Wednesday afternoon from the Albery home, 537 Sixth street, with the Reverend James D. Ransom of Central Presbyterian church officiating.
Many beautiful flowers surrounded the bier. They were arranged by Mrs. Chas. F. Wilson, Mrs. Frances Logsdon and Mrs. Vivian Riddlesbarger. Their numbers were evidence of the respect and esteem felt for a man who had lived the greater share of his life in this community.
The pall bearers were F. C. Tarman, Harold Tipton, Royal Briggs, Frank Vail, Chas. F. Wilson and Irving Erickson.
Committal was in the Nevada cemetery with the Nevada Masonic Lodge, of which he had been a long and faithful member, in charge of a Masonic service.
Obituary
Henry P. Albery, son of Henry and Minerva Albery, was born at Colo, July 25, 1877. On December 6, 1906 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Noble.
Most of his life has been spent in Nevada where for 40 years he, in partnership with his brother, operated a grocery store. He was active in the Nevada Community Club, a Past-Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias, and faithful member of the Masonic Lodge. He was highly respected by his business associates.
In 1941 he retired from business and has spent his remaining years enjoying his home, garden, flowers, and the many friends he has me through the years. He continued active until his health began to fail last fall, but even since that time has been up and around the house most of the time. Only an hour or so before his death he got up, dressed and prepared for another day.
He is survived by his widow, Myrtle Albery, and one niece, Mrs. Perry. His many friends, former business associates, and lodge brothers will greatly miss him.
