Mrs. Mary R. Sheldahl

Mrs. Mary R. Sheldahl was born in Norway July 19, 1829 and died May 19, 1916 after an illness of six months. At the time of her death she had reached the age of eighty seven years. The deceased grew to womanhood in the land of her birth. She was united in marriage in that country to Mr. Ole Olson Severeide. To this union seven children were born, four of whom survive her. They are Mr. Ole Severeide, Mr. Andrew Olson and Mrs. Wier Wierson of this place and Severt Olson of Belgrade, Minn. After the death of her husband she and the children came to this country residing at Sheldahl. In 1872 she was married to Mr. Rasmus Sheldahl. They then came to Roland where they lived till 1893, where Mr. Sheldahl passed away. The later years of Mrs. Sheldahl's life has been spent with her daughter, Mrs. Wierson. She was a true christian woman, devoted to her family and friends. Funeral services are held today with interment in the Roland cemetery.
