DEATH OF MARTHA GILREATH.
Richland Township Girl Passed Away At State Hospital
Miss Martha Gilreath, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gilreath of north of this city died on Monday, November 26 at the State Hospital at Clarinda, where she had been taken for treatment five days before. She had been suffering from a nervous trouble for the past three or four years, had been getting worse during the autumn and her trouble becoming more acute it was deemed advisable to take her to the state hospital for treatment. She had been examined by physicians from the city, Ames, Des Moines and State Center but none had been able to do her any good it appeared.
The family were notified of her death at once and the body was prepared for interment and was sent to Kellogg, where the family have a son buried. The funeral service were held at the Christian church in Kellogg on Friday at 10 o'clock and interment was in the cemetery at that place. Members of the family to the number of 14 drove down to Kellogg from here and attended the services.
Martha Gilreath was born in Byrdstown, Pickett county, Tenn., August 6, 1896. The family lived there until she was six years of age when they moved to South Dakota, where they lived until about 6 years ago when they came to Story county and located on the Farley farm north of this city near Fernald. She was a member of the Christian church, a girl of pleasant disposition and the family and friends will receive the profound sympathy of all in their hours of sad bereavement.
