OBITUARY
JOHN JONES
John Jones was born in Hardin county, Ohio on May 18, 1845 an lived there until the age of nine he came with his parents to Polk county, Iowa. There he lived for a year until the family move to Boone county where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Ida Hutchinson. To this union twelve children were born, ten of whom with the wife survive him. In 1884 Mr. and Mrs. Jones came to Story county and lived on a farm near Nevada until 1902 when they came to Nevada and lived here until the present time. Mr. Jones was well known in Nevada and vicinity and was respected as a hard working man, one who did the best he could for his family. He was ill but a short time when death overtook him at the age of 72 years and seven months, the cause of his death being typhoid pneumonia. The children who survive him are Mrs. Emily Haynes, John Henry Jones, Mrs. Lena Cheever, Ralph Leroy Jones and Mrs. Olive Myers all of Nevada, Mrs. Mattie Guge of Butterfield, Minn., Mrs. Clara Kimble [should be Kemble], B. Frank Jones and Leo Jones all of Boone and Geo. Walter Jones of Cardwell, Mont. The other two children passed away in infancy. He is also survived by a brother, Tom Jones an a sister Mrs. J. D. Edwards of Nevada and by thirty grandchildren an five great grandchildren. The family will receive the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
