Longtime Zearing Woman Dies In Wisconsin

Special to the Journal:
Zearing, Nov. 17--Mrs. J. J. Bryant, age about 90 years, died in a hospital at Grantsburg, Wisconsin, at 12:30 Thursday according to word reaching here.

She had been taken to the hospital about a month ago after suffering a fractured hip in a fall.

The body will be brought to the Brouhard funeral home in Zearing and services will be held at the Church of Christ in Clemons after which the boy will be interred in the Clemons cemetery by the side of her husband who died a number of years ago. Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m.

She was the eldest of a family of ten children of whom four survive. They are Mrs. Joseph Springer of Zearing, Mrs. W. J. Irvine of Portland, Oregon, Mack Deal of Oakland, Calif. and C. M. Deal of Des Moines.

Mrs. Bryant had lived the greater part of her long life in the Zearing, St. Anthony and Clemons neighborhoods but for the past fifteen years had made her home in Wisconsin.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Sarah Elizabeth Deal married (1) George Washington Spence on 19 July 1866 in Marshall County, Iowa and (2) Joseph J. Bryant on 11 November 1915 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota.
