Funeral Services for C. O. Christian, Former Roland Man

Roland, July 7--Funeral services for the late C. O. Christian, age 71 years, whose death was from cancer at his home at Blue Earth, Minn., Saturday night, were held Wednesday afternoon at that place. Mr. Christian, a Story county resident for many years was the oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Christian. He was born near Lisbon, Ill. and came here with his parents when a young boy.

He was married to Bertha Jondall, and they lived on the farm known now as the M. L. Tendall farm for a number of years. Later they moved to farm at Frost, Minn., where they lived for some time, after which they moved to Blue Earth where he passed away. He is survived by his wife, four sons Orville of Blue Earth, Herbert [should be Hubert], Chester and Archie of Chicago, and four daughters Agnes, Mrs. Alfred Peterson, Amy (Mrs. George Johnson) and Bertha Christian all of Blue Earth, and Hazel (Mrs. Homer Gaard) of Garden City. One daughter Josie (Mrs. Hartman Njoes) preceded the father in death.

His two brothers J. M. Christian of this place and C. E. Christian of McCallsburg and three sisters Mrs. Jane Erickson an Mrs. Emma Erickson of Roland and Mrs. E. O. Munson of Story City were all present at the funeral. Others who attended were Mrs. P. M. Christian, Mrs. Bert Britson, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Hansell Christian all of Roland; E. O. Munson of Story City, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Morris, Mrs. C. E. Christian, Mrs. Cleo Morris of McCallsburg, Mrs. Bertha Christian of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Olson of Nevada.
