Former State Center Man Buried Today
State Center July 5--William C. Richards, a former resident of State Center, where he was employed as a railway telegrapher, died suddenly at 4 a.m. Monday at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown. He had been sick only a few days. His death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Richards was born March 21, 1867, in Fayette county, a son of Aaron and Louisa Richards. The family moved to State Center in 1870 and Mr. Richards grew to manhood here. Fourteen years ago he moved to Marshalltown, where he made his home with his brother A. S. Richards.
He is survived by four brothers. Besides A. S. Richards they are M. L. Richards, State Center, George W. Richards, Grinnell, and Ray Richards, Eldora. Three sisters preceded him in death. He never married.
Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon and burial was in Hillside cemetery.
