Funeral Services For Robert Tillotson Held at Cambridge

Robert C. Tillotson was born Nov. 20, 1897, at Cascade, S. D. At the age of four months he and his mother came to Cambridge to make their home with an uncle. Later he spent some years in Canada but returned to Cambridge where he has spent the remainder of his life.

On August 20, 1919 at Wellington, Kansas he was united in marriage with Glennie Leland of this place.

Bob had been in ill health for many years but since 1942 has grown steadily worse and after all that medical skill and loving hands could do, he passed away Friday evening, Aug. 1 at his home, having reached the age of 49 years, 8 months and 12 days.

He believed in God and all things good. He was a loving husband, son and father. He remained cheerful in all his sufferings.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, his mother, Mrs. Jessie Ferguson, a son, Byron and family, and a sister, Mrs. Maurice Warren and family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Leland home with Rev. Paul Smith of Ogden, Iowa, in charge.

Laura V. Hazel Lyons beautifully rendered two songs, "Whispering Hope" and "In the Garden."

The casket bearers were neighbors and old friends. They were Donald Elliott, Glen Presnall, Leonard Harrison, Joe Seversike, Ralph Severson and Guy Jennings.

Burial was made in the Cambridge cemetery.

Relatives from out of town were Mrs. Amy Banks of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Read, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Read of Lyle, Minn.; Virginia Tillotson of Nevada and Mr. and Mrs. and Noble Overfield of Scarville, Io.
