Ida May Morgan, the eldest daughter of William and Mary Fox Morgan, was born October 8, 1865 near Cherry Valley, Illinois. She came with her parents to Colo, Iowa, just after Christmas in the year 1870.

On January 1, 1884, she was married to Ora Talbott. To this union was born one daughter, Elsie, who is the wife of William Thompson of Nevada.

Mr. and Mrs. Talbott farmed in Story county for several years before removing to a farm near Alden, Minnesota, where they were for four years.

They retired from the farm and moved to Colo on March 1, 1914. Later they moved to Nevada where Mr. Talbott died on December 28, 1931. Since that time Mrs. Talbott has spent several months with her daughter at the family home in Nevada.

Mrs. Talbott suddenly became ill on January 2, 1952, and was taken to the Story County hospital in Nevada. After a period of confinement here, she was removed to the Elsie Langfitt Nursing home in Ames where she has been cared for until her death.

Mrs. Talbott has been a member of the Evangelical church in Colo since June of 1903 when she with her husband, joined the church by virtue of their confession of faith in Christ Jesus.

She leaves her daughter Elsie Thompson of Nevada, two granddaughters, Mrs. Rosalyn Upchurch of Nevada and Mrs. Hope Arends of Omaha, one granddaughter, Eva Thomas, who passed away January 4, 1950, in Phoenix, Arizona, six great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

Also mourning the loss of this loved one are three sisters, all past eighty years of age, and one brother. These are respectively Mrs. Anna Allen of Zearing, Mrs. Jennie Perry of Colo, Mrs. Cora Bales of Colo and William Morgan also of Colo.

Being a member of a pioneer family, Mrs. Talbott has seen many changes in Story county and has lived to see many friends and loved ones depart from this life.
