O. O. TALBOTT DIED MONDAY AFTERNOON

FUNERAL UNDETERMINED PENDING ARRIVAL OF DAUGHTER FROM ARKANSAS

O. O. Talbott, 75, died at his home, 103 J avenue, Monday afternoon at 3:30, after an illness of several weeks, following a gradual decline in health for the past year.

Funeral services for Mr. Talbott have not been announced, pending the arrival of the only daughter, Mrs. Elsie Thompson, who is expected here from her home near Bentonsville, Arkansas, Wednesday morning.

Mr. Talbott, who had been a resident of Nevada for the past three years, had lived in Story county much of the time since coming here with his parents in 1865, was well known especially around Colo.

Ora O. Talbott was born in Warren county, Illinois, April 22, 1856, a son of William S. and Martha Rose Talbott. He was one of the six sons and five daughters who grew to manhood and womanhood. Of these he is survived by two brothers, John and Edward Talbott of Lamoille and two sisters, Nancy Bamberger of Nevada and Hetty Weed of San Diego, Calif. The deceased brothers were Charles, William H. and Thomas, while the sisters were Sarah, Stella and Minnie.

The parents, with their large family of children came to Iowa in 1865, locating first in Nevada, where they made their home for a few months, after which they moved to a farm on East Indian creek, southeast of Nevada where they lived for four or five years, then moving to Hardin county. There the father held a pulpit in a local church for about two years, after which the family home again changed, this time to Lamoille, in Marshall county. There the home continued until the death of the parents, the father in 1886 and the mother in 1903.

Mr. Talbott, the subject of this sketch, was married January 1, 1884 to Miss Ida Morgan of Colo, the ceremony taking place in Nevada. They made their home with the Talbotts in Lamoille for some years, but later moved to Minnesota for a period of about 4 years, since which time their home has been either in or near Colo or Nevada.

One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Talbott, a daughter Elsie, who is now Mrs. W. F. Thompson of Bentonsville, Arkansas.

Mr. Talbott leaves besides his wife the one daughter, three granddaughters Mrs. Eva Thomas of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Rosalyn and Hope Thompson of Arkansas; two great grandchildren, Lloyd and Glen Thomas of Muskogee; the brothers John and Ed Talbott of Lamoille and the sisters Mrs. Nancy Bamberger of Nevada and Mrs. Hetty Weed of San Diego, Calif.

Mr. Talbott had been a member of the Evangelical church since boyhood. His membership was with the Colo church, until moving to Nevada, after which he transferred to the local church.

Mr. Talbott was a man of fine integrity and was highly respected in the community in which he head made his home for so many years.

Few people had realized that his condition had taken on the serious nature that it had and the announcement of his death came as a surprise to members of the family, as well as the neighbors and friends.
