HENRY SCHAPER DIED EARLY TODAY

FORMER STORY COUNTY MAN CALLED BY DEATH AT STATE CENTER

Special to the Journal.
State Center, Oct. 31--Henry Schaper, 78, for many years a resident of northeast Collins township, Story county, died at his home in State Center this morning at 3:30.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 t the St. Paul's Lutheran church in State Center. Rev. A. H. Schultz, pastor in charge of the services. Burial will be in Hillside.

Mr. Schaper was born in Hanover, Germany, Feb. 7, 1853 and came with his parents to America in 1866. They settled on a farm north of State Center, where he grew to manhood.

In 1878 he settled on a farm northwest of Rhodes in Story county, where he resided until 1920 when he moved to State Center and has lived here ever since.

One sister and one brother survive. They are Mrs. Fred Holle and Ernest Schauper both of State Center.

Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
