COLLINS FARMER DIED SUDDENLY

WM. HARMSEN, 70, VICTIM OF HEART TROUBLE WEDNESDAY AT 12:15

Special to the Journal.
Collins, Oct. 29--Funeral services for William Harmsen, 70, prominent farmer of the Collins neighborhood, who died at the family home 4 miles southeast of here Wednesday afternoon, will be held Saturday at 2:00.

The services will be a the country home in charge of Rev. John Adamson, pastor of the Collins Methodist Episcopal church and interment will be in the Collins cemetery.

Harmsen was a native of Pella, Iowa, and had lived in the Collins community for 46 years, forty of which had been on the same farm.

William Harmsen, born October 30, 1861, was son f Garrett and Antonia Harmsen, being one of a large family of children.

On Thanksgiving ay, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Cynthia Fiske and she with the one son and two daughter survive him.

Mrs. Harmsen had been ill for the past seven weeks and at the time of the death of the husband at the nearby home of their daughter Mrs. William Runbaugh.

Mr. Harmsen had been in his usual health and had been at State Center on business Tuesday. Wednesday morning he had been up and about his chores as usual but following the noonday meal, he lay down for a nap and died a victim of heart trouble.

Mr. Harmsen leaves besides the wife, a son Otis Harmsen and daughter Mrs. Ora Sheibley at home and the daughter Mrs. William Rumbaugh, who lives on an adjoining farm.

In the family at home there are also three grandchildren, Billy, Harriett and Minnie Mae Sheibley.

There is also a brother Gerrett Harmsen who lives in Oklahoma and three sisters, Misses Jennie and Hattie Harmsen of Pella and Mrs. Anna Straub of Stockton, Cal.

Mr. Harmsen was well known as a successful and progressive farmer, active in all things for the betterment of the community and his untimely death will be mourned.
