George F. Yingst Laid to Rest Today
State Center, Dec. 23--Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00, at the Brimhall Funeral Home here for George F. Yingst, 71, long-time resident of this community who died at the home here Wednesday evening.
Death was due to heart trouble from which he had been a sufferer for two years, having been confined to his bed since Thanksgiving day.
George Yingst was born March 15, 1861, at Harrisburg, Pa. He joined the army at the age of 17 and was in service for twelve years, after which he came to State Center. He married Miss Alvina Hennis in 1903. Mrs. Yingst died Dec. 9, 1926.
Mr. and Mrs. Yingst had no children of their own but they adopted a son, Ernest, in 1917. Besides this son, he is survived by two brothers Joe, of Culver City, Calif., and James, of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mrs. Ben Hummel of Clearfield, Pa., and two half-brothers, Grant and Harvey, of Harrisburg, besides a large number of nieces and nephews.
Members of the Masonic lodge of State Center, of which he was a member, were in charge of services at Hillside cemetery.
