JOHN CALLAHAN DIED EARLY TODAY
FUNERAL THURSDAY MORNING AT ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH
John Callahan, 72, of 1222 Fifth street died at 6:00 a. m. today at Iowa sanitarium, death being due to pneumonia, which followed an accidental fall in which a hip was fractured.
Mr. Callahan, who had been a resident of Nevada for a number of years, coming out here from Chicago where he had been engaged in business, had been failing in health for some time, but had been able to be up and around until he met with the accident Sunday, October 2.
Mr. Callahan leaves besides his wife*, two daughter and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Roberta Blair of California and Sister Mary Roberta [fka Millicent Callahan] of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three sons, Louis Callahan of Chillicothe, Ohio, George Callahan of Nevada and Fred Callahan of Geddes, S. D.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church, with Rev. Fr. M. Nichols in charge. Interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to subsequent articles, the children of the deceased filed a will contest. The article state that his widow, Marie Clementine (Dierkes) Callahan, was the second wife of the deceased.
