Fred and William Smith returned to Chicago yesterday afternoon following the last rites for their father, Fred Smith, former Milford township resident who passed away Sunday in Corydon. The brief prayer service was held at the Morfoot Funeral home in charge of the Rev. O. E. Cooley. Committal was in the Nevada cemetery. Besides the two sons here and the son Donald Smith and the daughter, Marian [Mickelson]. Mr. Smith is survived by two brothers, Josiah E. Smith of Minneapolis, Minn. and Wm. Smith of Purdue University, La Fayette, Inc.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Fred Andrew Smith was the son of Marion Smith and Rachel Darner. He married Carrie Louise Newton on 5 December 1900 in Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa. They later divorced. The daughter, Marian Elizabeth Smith, married Arnold J. Mickelson 31 May 1926 at Roland, Story County, Iowa.
