Lloyd A. Young Was Buried Here Sunday
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church for Lloyd Young, 40, former Grant township farmer who died at his home at Shipley Thursday evening. The services were in charge of the pastor Rev. C. D. Loose and interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
Lloyd A. Young was born August 31, 1895 at Winfield, Kansas and died at his home at Shipley, Iowa Dec. 19, 1935 after an illness of several months, being at the time of his death 40 years, 3 months and 19 days.
He was united in marriage to Elva Emerson on Feb. 3, 1916. To this union was born four children. They are Mrs. Evelyn Thomas of Shipley, Dorothy and Dale at home, one daughter, Pauline, died Jan. 23, 1934. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his wife and children, his father and mother, two brothers, Ira of Los Angeles, Cal. and Hugh of Jefferson and one sister Mrs. Mary McNeil of Jolley and many other relatives and friends.
He had been a member of the Methodist church since boyhood and was a kind and devoted husband and father and will greatly missed in the home and the community.
