MRS. EVENSON BURIED HERE

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Evenson of Ihlen, Minn., were held here yesterday afternoon at Salem church with interment in the Roland cemetery. She died at her home last Wednesday.

Funeral services were held at the home and at the Zion Lutheran church in Ihlen on Sunday with Rev. A.J. Evenson of Sherman, S.D., in charge. The pall bearers were L.T. Sabie, S. S. Vatne, J.S. Johnson, Henry Walseth, Rasmus Larson and Jacob Meling.

The undertaking firm from Jasper, Minn., brought the remains to Roland yesterday and funeral services were held at the Mrs. John Evenson home at 1:15 o'clock and at Salem Lutheran church at 1:30. Rev. Evenson was in charge assisted by the local pastor, Rev. Olaf Holen, and Rev. G.O. Paulsrud of Randall. Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Boyd sang two numbers.

The pall bearers were, J.J., H.E., B.W. and O.L. Evenson, Carl Johnson and Sam Swanson. Interment was made in the Evenson family lot in the Roland cemetery.

Marie Pauline Gausel was born in Sandness, Norway, February 11, 1868, her patents being Samuel Gausel and Christine Lura Gausel. She died at Ihlen, Minn., December 11, 1935, at the age of 66 years and 10 months.

She came to America in 1902 and was married the same year to Joseph Evenson at Roland by the late Rev. J.N. Sandven. They have lived at Ihlen all of the time with the exception of two and a half years spent in Alberta, Canada. She leaves besides her husband, one brother and two sisters in Norway.

Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Evenson and son Alfred of Sherman, S.D., accompanied the husband here Monday. Others from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Swanson, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Evenson, Mr. and Mrs. A. Corey, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, of Marshalltown; Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Evenson of Story City; Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Evenson of Buffalo Center; Kenneth Evenson and Mrs. Iver Burseth of LeLand; Mrs. Andrew Askland of Lake Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson of Woden, and Peter Skogerboe of Story City.
