Funeral Services for Mrs. Hactor Egemo

Huxley, Aug. 24--Funeral services for Mrs. Hactor Egemo, who passed away at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames on Saturday were held on Tuesday afternoon, August 20th, with Rev. Peder Buland in charge.

There was a brief service at the L. N. Helland home at 1:30 and at the Palestine church at two o'clock At the service at the church June Sheldahl sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewehre," after which the funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Buland. "Behold a Host Arrayed in White" was sung by Mrs. Margaret Fritz of near Slater.

A trio consisting of June Sheldahl, Beulah and Gladys Tweedt sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." The pallbearers were R. B. Helland, Glen Nerness, Thelmar Ford, Arnold, Verner and Sanford Egemo. Interment was in the Palestine cemetery.

Gunhild Elgervik was born April 28, 1857 in Skaanevik, Norway. Her parents were Wier and Martha Elgervik. In 1883, she was united in marriage to Hactor Egemo, who passed away just a year ago.

To this union eight children were born of whom four have preceded her in death. Her husband came to America in 1897. Two years later Mrs. Egemo and children came to make their home at Story City. She is survived by four children, Lewis Egemo of Cylinder, Iowa; Will Egemo of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Ole Nerness of Kelley, Mrs. Lawrence Helland of Huxley.

Also one sister, Mrs. Sam Egemo of Story City and one brother in Norway. She also leaves 21 grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Egemo passed away on Saturday, August 17, 1835, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 20 days. Blessed be her memory.
