Funeral Services for Slater Girl

Special to the Journal.
Slater, March 8--Funeral services for Miss Ramona Skola, 20, were held Tuesday afternoon at the home at 1:30 o'clock and two o'clock at the Bethlehem church. The services were in charge of her pastor, Rev. E. R. Rorem. The service at the home was also conducted by the pastor, M. C. Swenson of Ames sang "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions." The service was concluded with prayer by S. B. Severson of Ames. The church was filled to over flow capacity with the many sorrowing friends and relatives. The many beautiful floral offerings paid silent tribute to the departed one. The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Hollis Hedlund and Miss Thelma Berhow, Miss Ruth Halverson sang, "In The Garden." A duel was sung by Mrs. M. S. Heggen and Mrs. A. L. Peterson. "Good Morning Up There" was sung by Mrs. Gurton Erickson and Miss Gladys Estrem. The pallbearers were Robert Clark, Robert Munson, Eugene Severson, Harold Hidlund, George Kocur and Stanley Lundy.

Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Ramona Mildred Skola was born January 7, 1915 at Slater and died March 2, 1935 in the hospital at Cherokee from pleural pneumonia. At the time she became ill she was a guest in the home of her fiance, Walter Paschell.

She was taken to the hospital where everything that medical skill could do was done for her. The Paschell family were tireless in their efforts, also. Her mother was at her bedside constantly till the end. Ramona was a graduate of the Slater schools in the class of 1932. They were all present at the services.

She was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Her sunny smile and kind disposition made many friend. The Women's auxiliary of the church and several other groups presented money to the missions in her memory.

She leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. She also leaves to mourn her loss her grief stricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Skola, her fiance, Walter Paschell, three sisters, Miss Beatrice Skola of Dike, Marvel and Marguerite, three brothers, Arnold, Wilfred and Arthur and a host of relatives.
