THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday July 30, 1942, page 1, column 1. "FINAL RITES HELD AT IOWA CENTER FOR MRS. VILLENEUVE. Funeral rites for Mrs. Gloe Jones-Villeneuve, 57, wife of John Villeneuve of Langdon, N. D., who passed away Sunday morning in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ida Belcher, were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Iowa Center Church with the Rev. A. E. Russell of the Elwell Evangelical church in charge. The church was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends, many coming from a distance to pay their last respect. The acting pallbearers were her cousins and nephews Clay Robison, Ross Fair, Cecil Jones, Harold Whitaker and Clark Belcher. With Miss Phyllis Turner at the organ, a quartet composed of Mrs. Van Busenburg, Mrs. Erwin Nowning, Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Allen Struthers, sang "Does Jesus Care, " "The City Four-Suare"** and "Where He Leads Me I Will Follow." The flower tributes were very beautiful. Her brothers and sisters were all present at the rites. The burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Iowa Center. Among the out-of-state relatives present for the rites beside her husband, John Villeneuve and son Gareth, of Langdon, N. d., were her brother, R. A. Jones, his wife and their children, Maxine and Harold of San Francisco, Calif., her brother Charles and wife and daughter Sandra of Winnebago, Nebr., her sister Mrs. Frank Erhenreich of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jones of Joliet, Ill. The Following obituary of the deceased was read during the service: Eva Gloe Jones was born near Iowa Center, July 14, 1885 and passed away at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ida Belcher of north of Maxwell, July 19, 1942, at the age of 57 years, five days. She spent her childhood on her father's farm near Iowa Center, moving to Blairsburg, Ia., in 1900 and returning to Maxwell in 1903. Later she went to Forest, Ohio, to live with he* uncle, W. H. Jones. She was married at Omaha, Nebr., in 1922 to John Villeneuve of Langdon, N. D., where she had lived since that time. She had come to Iowa last Saturday, July 18, form her home to attend the Whitaker family reunion which was to convene on Sunday in the home of Mrs. Carrie Fair. It was 26 years since she had been back to visit in the community where she had been reared. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and 5 year old son, Gareth, also one sister, Mrs. Frank Erhenreich of Chicago, Charles Jones of Winnebago, Nebr., Harry Jones of Des Moines and Richard A. Jones of San Francisco, and many other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Evangelical Church. - Nevada Journal.
