THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 25, 1935, page 4, column 2. "D. R. Tripp, 78, was born east of Farrar, and passed away at his home at Colfax Sunday, April 21. He was the son of David and Margaret Tripp. His wife, who was Martha Tiffany, preceded him in death in 1924, also a daughter in childhood and a son, Marion, in 1929. He survived by one son, Charles, of Newton. Twenty-five years ago he moved to Colfax, where he has since resided. He operated stores at Clyde, McCallsburg and Colfax. He served as deputy sheriff and county sheriff four years each. He was a member of the Christian church and of the Masonic lodge, being Past Grand Master of Iowa of the Order. The Funeral was held at the Christian church Wednesday with Masons in charge and burial in the family lot at Ashton cemetery."
