THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 3, 1963, page 1, column 2. "MARTIN H. TROUP DIES. - Martin H. Troup, 86, a former Iowa legislator, died Monday in the Story County Hospital in Nevada, after a long illness. Born in Story County, he had lived most of his life in Maxwell, where he was a banker, insurance and real estate man. He served several terms in the Iowa Hose of Representatives. Mr. Troup was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Greeley of Redlands, Calif., and Mrs. Carol Sorg of Baraboo, Wis. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Maxwell Methodist Church of which he was a member."
