PIONEER WOMAN DIED AT CAMBRIDGE

MRS. JOHN HENNICK HAD LIVED IN COUNTY NEARLY 60 YEARS

Cambridge, Sept. 27--Mrs. John Hennick, 81, for over half a century a resident of the Cambridge community, died at her home here Wednesday morning at 2:30, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:00, after which interment will be in the Cambridge cemetery.

Nine of the ten surviving children of this beloved woman, with the aged husband and father, were at her bedside when she passed away.

Born Margaret Elizabeth Olinger in Indiana August 25, 1853, she went to Kansas with her parents when a girl and was untied in marriage to John Hennick at Emporia, September 21, 1871. Shortly after their marriage they came to Iowa and located on a farm near Cambridge.

They continued on the farm until 29 years ago when they retired and moved into Cambridge where they have since maintained their home.

Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hennick, one of them died in infancy and ten of the children, together with 54 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren survive her.

The children are Orra Hennick of Floyd, William Hennick of near Cambridge, Ed Hennick of Neosha, Mo., Mary Robinson of Grattinger, Harve Hennick of Ames, Irving Hennick of Maxwell, Clarence Hennick of Emmetsburg, Ida Leland of Cambridge, Charles Hennick of Cambridge and Nellie King of Cambridge.

All of the children with the exception of Orra, who was unable to get here, were at the bedside of the mother, when she passed away.
