FORMER NEVAEA WOMAN IS DEAD
MRS. JOHN F. McDONALD DIED AT HOME IN GRAETTINGER THURSDAY
Brief services for Mrs. J. G. McDonald, 62, former Story county woman who died at her home at Graettinger, Thursday, will be held at St. Patrick's church, Nevada, Saturday between 11:00 and 12:00 a. m. followed by interment in St. Patrick's cemetery.
The funeral service will be held at the Catholic church in Graettinger, early Saturday morning, after which the funeral party will drive to Nevada, for the brief service and interment.
Mrs. McDonald lived near Nevada for many years, the family tenanting and operating the McKim farm north of Nevada, when they left here six years ago.
The deceased, born August 26, 1871, at Monticello, Indiana, was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Cunningham. Later the family came out to Iowa and located near Ames.
She was united in marriage to John F. McDonald, at Nevada, October 22, 1890 and to this union ten children were born. Nine of these children, with the husband survive her. One daughters Florence Elizabeth Thompson died in December 1928.
The surviving children are John W., Harry, Bob, Charles and James of Graettinger, Sadie Strain of Ames, Agnes Strain of Rodman, Mary Vogt of Emmetsburg and Mrs. Alice Larson of Nevada. She also leaves fifty grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and a host of other relative and friends.
Mrs. McDonald was a devoted wife and mother and was held in the highest of esteem by a wide circle of friends over the county, where she was long known.
