Dr. George Goldsmith passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arte Roberts, Sunday, May 4, 1913, at 11:05 a. m. at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 4 days.

The deceased was born in St. Katharyn, Ontario, Canada, August 29, 1820, and came to Ohio with his parents at about 18 years of age.

Later he was married to Mary J. Green, of Mansfield, Ohio, to which union ten children were born, five of whom are still living, a son in North Dakota, two daughters in Iowa, and Curtis Goldsmith and Mrs. Arte Roberts of this place. Among other relative he leaves two granddaughters, Mrs. Roscoe Morrell and Mrs. W. F. Hubbard, and two great grand-children, Wendell and Byron Hubbard and one grand son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Goldsmith, all of whom live near here and where present at the funeral.

The deceased was a practicing veterinary in Iowa and Illinois for more than 60 years, and stood high among his associates and was highly respected by all who knew him. His came as the result of old age and he passed peacefully away, being conscious to the last.

He came to Liberal last June and has since made his home among his relatives here, lastly with his daughter, Mrs. Roberts, west of Liberal.

The funeral will be held from the house Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Bolton, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Interment will be in the Liberal cemetery.
