Obituary.

Died, in Nevada, Iowa, March 2, 1899, Charles Carver Leonard, aged 72 years, 6 months and 14 days.

The deceased was born in Ohio, August 16, 1826, and pursued a varied life. He went to California in 1852, accompanied by his wife, and their son Con was born on the way at Salt Lake City. He spent twelve years on the coast and returned by the way of the Isthmus. He came to Iowa in 1867 and to Nevada in 1870, and thereafter made this place his home. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Miss Alice, besides grandchildren and great grandchildren. He died at the Union Hotel; but his body was taken to the rooms of his wife and daughter in the Ray block, and his funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Adventist church by Rev. Henderson. He was a man of varied impulses, and the full story of his life few, if any, a qualified to write.
