Mrs. Peterson's Funeral Held Tuesday Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. Ole Peterson, whose death occurred at the family home, Eleventh and Avenue K Sunday morning, was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Memorial Lutheran church, with Dr. C. N. Swihart in charge. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery. The services were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends many being here from in and around Roland.
Anna Rasmusson was born at Stavanger, Norway, Europe, August 4, 1852. When a girl of 15 she came to America with her parents, they locating first at Morris, Illinois. Later they came out to Story county and she was united in marriage first to John Spaulding. Two children were born to them, but both they and the husband passed away many years ago.
After the death of Mr. Spaulding she lived with and kept house for her brother, Ole Rasumusson, of Milford township, for a long time. Twelve years ago she was again married, this time Ole Peterson, and their home had been in Nevada since.
She had been ill for about five months suffering from a cancer, but it was not until about a week ago that she began to fail very rapidly and it was realized that the end was near.
She leaves besides her aged husband two sisters and one brother. The sisters are Mrs. R. J. Fitch of this city, and Mrs. Peter Anderson of Story City, while the brother is Rasmus Rasmussen of Roland.
Mrs. Peterson was a Christian woman and died in full confidence of her Promises of her Master. She was well and favorably known by a wide circle of friends and the husband and other relatives will receive a full measure of sympathy from all.
