CIRCUS EMPLOYE KILLED BY TRAIN

"SLATS" OMUNDSON MET TRAGIC DEATH NEAR HIS HOME TOWN.

Story City, May 16--Omer Omundson, better known as "Slats" a World war veteran of Jewell north of here and well known to many Story City people, met a tragic death Sunday morning, on the Northwestern, a mile and a half south of Eagle Grove.

Omundson had been working with the World Bros. circus as night watchman on their train and it was while in looking after his duties that he probably slipped and fell underneath the train. The morning passenger No. 25 picked him up. He was identified by his legion card having been a World war veteran, member of Rainbow division. He leaves a mother and father, a brother, Ole, who is now in the army, and a brother, Oscar who is working in Des Moines; Mrs. A. B. Hall of Minneapolis, and Mrs. John Peterson of Ames.

The Jewell Legion post went to Eagle Grove Sunday to bring back the body.
