Funeral Services Held at White Oak for Clark Glasgow
Funeral Services for Clark Glasgow were held at the White Oak church Friday afternoon, June 5, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Homer Watkins of Marshalltown in charge.
A quartet compose of H. D. Pence, Rev. Zike, D. G. Houser and C. M. Webb with Lucille McHone at the piano sang "Going Down the Valley," "Does Jesus Care" and "There'll be no Dark Valley when Jesus Comes."
Pallbearers included Dale Richardson, Oliver Richardson, Foss McCauley, Orie Hitchcock, Reed Hutton and Clarence Simpson. Many beautiful floral offerings expressed the sympathy of kind relatives and friends. Interment in the White Oak cemetery with Coopers undertakers in charge.
Thomas Clark Glasgow, son of William and Ellen Glasgow, was born on a farm south of Cambridge on August 8, 1906, and departed this life on June 3, 1936 at the age of 29 years, 9 months and 26 days. He attended the Nippentuck and White Oak schools, graduating from the latter in the class of 1925. He grew to manhood and pent his entire life here with the exception of four years spent in and around Chicago, Illinois and Davenport, Ia.
He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Whitney on November 3, 1935 at Moline, Ill.
He leaves to mourn his departure besides his wife, four sisters, Gladys Sparks of Moline, Ill., Olive Savacool of Auburn, Erma Hanson of Fulton, Ill., and Erva Hansen of Ames. Five brothers, Clarence of Fergus Falls, Minn., Walter of Jefferson, Ore., Ira of Lake City, Romer of Chicago, Ill., and Russell of Clarinda; also a host of other relatives and friends.
